I need a part for the Sabre

When Steve  was out for the Hippy Killer Hoedown, we tore into the Sabre as the speedometer hasn’t been working right. Well after a  hour of testing many wires , he realized the sending unit on the front wheel is shot!

                    Both of us have searched but haven’t had any luck. It is a 85 Honda Sabre and if  you know a guy that knows a guy, that might have the part, let me know please, duane@dbcustomleather.com

My hands hurt

Been hand sewing for the last two days. I am creating a side and tool bag. They are almost done and I will be taking tomorrow off for the Chino Air Show!

I like when I get asked to make something different. These don’t come through my shop very often but they are fun to make. I have a big project coming up I’m REALLY looking forward to. If you have something in mind and aren’t sure if I’ll be into it just ask. You may end up having your idea turned onto reality and I’ll get to make something different again.

Hot Bike Magazine stopped by the shop

Be sure to grab next months Hot Bike as I just completed a tech article with them. The lay out should be pretty informative as Jeff grabbed every shot for hours.  Do you think Chris Long is happy with the outcome?

This month’s issue has my buddy Zach’s bike- the CHC Hustler- as one of the feature bikes, we are pretty stoked for him!

This has been a great project for me, seat , two saddle bags and a tank panel so far. Still have to get the p-pad and back rest done but that will be accomplished after Japan. Big thanks go out to Michael Barragan for hooking me up.

The bags took me  60-70 hours to create . All hand sewn- actually every stitch is doubled for strength. Jeff wanted cup holders so I created them as well.

He  also wanted a spot for his I-Phone , first of many to come, all hand sewn!

Big thanks to K Daddyz Kustoms

I dropped my tank off to Kyle Gann-aka K Daddy- a few weeks ago and was stoked to get the call that the tank was fixed. If you remember a while back I dropped the gas cover on the tank and chipped the paint. I really wanted to get it fixed but didn’t want anyone to mess up the Pradke paint job.  I called Courtney-aka the guy that knows everybody- and he hooked me up with Kyle. So we went to Bakersfield and back twice but was it worth every mile, Kyle killed it! You can’t even tell where the chip began or ended.

Have you tried this?

Spent the weekend stripping the frame and the engine cases with Citristrip. All natural and safe for the environment, but don’t get in your mouth, taste like shit! I am impressed on how easy it is to use this stuff

Breaking down Funkenstein

I have started the process of breaking down Funkenstein for a  complete over haul before Japan. This is consisting of getting the chip  fixed on the tank, getting the frame power coated and putting on the new improved exhaust.  Awhile back I dropped the gas cap and and took a small chunk out of the tank. Well Courtney came by to help me with the tear down process and check out the new exhaust. I am really liking the fit.

                  

We found this when we removed the gas tank,

Yup, that would be one cracked frame! Big thanks to Courtney, who calls out to his friends and within a 1/2 hour, I have someone that will be fixing the crack.  As you can see, it has been cracked for awhile

                      

Now the pressure is on to get it completed before the shipping deadline.

Helped Alex last weekend ,putting  his Triumph back together. During the process, my big clumsy hands dropped a screw on the newly painted headlight that Renalto just completed. He had to take it back and redo it. Sorry buddy!
