Lisa and I met Fallon and Todd at the David Mann Chopperfest. McGoo was throwing out a little rant that she got wind of ,which brought them closer to our booth….:-)  Once there she spotted the Spectro posters and said she had a pic of the Taco and her………. big thanks for the love!

……………..as you can tell , she has great taste in bikes!

Born to Ride

 

Born to Ride is a free magazine that is available in Florida that just covered the Pink Taco. The amazing shot were done by our friend Josh Kurpius and the spread is top notch. Big thanks to the crew of Born to Ride for featuring the bike but most of all to Josh for taking time out of his busy schedule to shoot the bike.

Scored second place at the Beatnik Blowout

Got a sweet trophy for the Pink Taco at the Beatnik Blowout, a killer set of bongos. The EC van doesn’t have tunes yet so I played Lisa a few songs on the way back to Orange.  She asked me not to give up my day job, but I don’t know why, I thought liked I sounded like Ricky Ricardo!

It was cool to get a trophy seeing that this was the first year they allowed Jap bikes to be displayed. We were totally stoked for Little Jenny, as she grabbed second for her  sweet new build , the Super Bee. Watch for it in the next Street Chopper Magazine.

Thanks for hanging out at the booth, you and Davey are always welcomed!

This sweet girl had to get her picture taken on the Pink Taco. She had her coat on and surprised us with having on a matching shirt, we think they are made for each other.

The Pink Taco build

I have been asked to show some of the build up for the Pink Taco. Mostly everything was fabricated in my little garage with the help of Courtney, McGoo, Alex and Renato. We did go to a few shops to fab the gas tank, battery case and the wiring box. Long nights were spent on the motorcycle seeing that we all have full time day jobs. I have very few tools in my garage but we made the most of everything I had.

Kutty and I had the challenge laid out, let’s create the same bike that graced the cover of Street Chopper in the 70”s, but put our spin on each of the builds.  It was awesome to do this with Kutty and we are both pleased with the outcome. I know most people categorize me as the leather guy but I really like building bikes too. I already have another build in mind but have to help Wayne finish his first. Now that ours have graced the cover of street Chopper-thanks Jeff- I can show the mock up. So I will try to keep the pictures coming , thanks for the interest!

First off…………..You only go to one guy for custom frames. Freddy Hernandez  is a absolute ruler!

 

Thought I had a picture of just the frame but I must of been too damn excited and began fabricating with Alex. 

I already have the fender, tank bottom, and the cage that is inside the gas tank welded on at this point. It also has the sissy bar than ended up being scrapped in favor of the drilled struts.   Be sure to check back.
