Very honored to be a part of this event

Big thanks to Shige and Goshu for inviting us!

5 DEC 2010 (Sunday)
Hot Rod City, Yokohama, Japan
at the Pacifico Yokohama International Exhibition Hall
19th Annual YOKOHAMA HOT ROD Custom Show 2010

Feels early to announce? Not so, December will be here before you know it and MOONEYES always begins in early Spring as there's much work to do in the pre-stage of planning. This year is no exception with huge names in the industry and stunning cars that are already lined up.

A year in the making, maybe more. MOONEYES has been in contact with two very talented fine artists. Both of them are in their own league and one was a fundamental ingredient to the Low Brow Art movement and created ART JUXTAPOZ magazine. Both are married, both are hot rod enthusiasts, and both are life-long car lovers. We are talking about Suzanne Williams, a contemporary fine artist of abstract expressionism with symmetrical balance work and '34 Ford Tudor Sedan owner and Robert Williams, a living legend in theKustom Kulture movement, Low Brow mastermind artist that bridges the gap of realism and surrealism and owner of a '32 Ford Roadsterpainted in the scheme of his childhood memories of circle track racing in the south. Both artists and both cars will be at HCS2010. That's not all! There are big plans for this occasion. One is a Preview of sorts to what will be featured and exhibited at the show in December. The show in December will feature a large exhibition of artworks from both artists as well as people in the industry that have been influenced by them. It is aTribute to Robert Williams. The Preview of a Tribute to Robert Williams will be held at MOONEYES Area-1 inAugust 2010. Stick around for more details to come!

Built for Metallica band member Kirk Hammett, the "MetalliCoupe" will be here in miles deep black for all to drool over.

All of these tentative guests and show cars/bikes have been featured in the most recent release of MOON ILLUSTRATED MAGAZINE Vol. 5. For better details, be sure to pick up your copy today! Vatos Y Viclas

3I heard about this show from a few friends of mine here in Elsinore. It’s put on my Vatos Y Viclas magazine. It happens the second Sunday of every month at the park in downtown Lake Elsinore. I figured it would be a quick hit and run deal where we went to look at a few bikes. Alex, Renato, Rick, Toolio, Mike, and I ended up staying for hours. The amount of work put into the bikes was incredible. Hundreds of two wheel lowriders is the only way to describe it. The detail on many of them is amazing.  Beautiful location with lots of shade, nice people, good music, etc. I know our group will be back next time.

Born Free

2 I don’t know what to say about this event that hasn’t already been said. The word that keeps coming up is “Overwhelming”. All I know is the amount of people and bikes were insane. It’s already FAR outgrown it’s current location. It was so crowded it was hard to see the bikes. Not a problem that comes up very often. It was nice to see old friends and meet a BUNCH of new people.  I had a great time riding out with a bunch of friends from Elsinore and Orange County. No problems with bikes their or back. Watching Alex’s bike do the trip without missing a beat was killer. Especially after how bad that damn bike has been fighting him to come together these last few weeks. It amazes me the response that goofy pink bike gets when I take it out. Winning best Japanese at BF II was icing on the cake. I TRULY appreciate the nice comments from everyone at the show. I’m glad someone besides me likes digger style bikes. Wait until you see what is next. :) Congratulations to Adrian and Kutty for winning with the Loser Machine bike, and to Kim Boyle for his amazing recently completed Panhead. I’m looking forward to seeing how the BF crew is going to top this one.

Off to the track

Took a hour off from the shop to head over to the Hells on Wheels event to lend a hand creating the stage. Pretty stoked that it’s right here in Lake Elsinore. It is going to be a cool event.  I would recommend a hat, the sun is everywhere.

Off to the Grand National Roadster Show

rodshows-banner-480x60

Kutty and I are heading out today to set up for the Grand National Roadster Show. I have the Pink Taco entered and Kutty is entering three bikes in the show. Hope we bring something home this time.

Wayne spent some time on the computer and made me a sign for all of my sponsors and buddies that helped with the build. I believe he found his calling. The camera doesn’t do it justice. I will be there all weekend long, can’t get bored at this show, it has 8 buildings of radness.
