A couple of car loads are heading to the Hollywood Park tomorrow night to see Devo. Lisa and I went with the Notebooms to see them when we first moved here and they killed it. If you are looking for something to do, can’t go wrong, just 8 bucks to get in. See you there.

A Blast from the Past
Seen this 50’s Russian Motorcycle at the Long Beach Swap Meet. It has a cop stationed by it for the whole event, maybe thought the gun was real?

Big Ass Skinny Bike
My friend Alex and I about to leave Born Free II. Picture by Cindy of the Fashion Serial Killer Blog. The ride was great. It was the maiden voyage for Alex’s Triumph.

L.A. Roadster Show
Drove out with Mike D and Rico to the L.A. Roadster show. Met up with Cole, Suzie, Aaron, Jeff, and Chris. It was my first time and I will not miss another. Saw Shige while walking around and Goshu joined us for a visit to the NHRA museum. Most impressive thing at the show was listening to three of these old top fuel cars run at the same time.
One of the cars from the NHRA museum. Make sure and stop in if your any where near it.

Sugar Bear
Probably the nicest guy I’ve ever had the pleasure of calling my friend. NEVER has a bad thing to say about anything. Always seems to be happy, and at seventy can outride just about anyone all on a bike a block long. Toru from Mooneye’s sent me this picture from the Born Free II event. Make sure and check out Bear’s work at http://www.sugarbearchoppers.com/ .

Vatos Y Viclas
I heard about this show from a few friends of mine here in Elsinore. It’s put on my Vatos Y Viclas magazine. It happens the second Sunday of every month at the park in downtown Lake Elsinore. I figured it would be a quick hit and run deal where we went to look at a few bikes. Alex, Renato, Rick, Toolio, Mike, and I ended up staying for hours. The amount of work put into the bikes was incredible. Hundreds of two wheel lowriders is the only way to describe it. The detail on many of them is amazing. Beautiful location with lots of shade, nice people, good music, etc. I know our group will be back next time.

Born Free
I don’t know what to say about this event that hasn’t already been said. The word that keeps coming up is “Overwhelming”. All I know is the amount of people and bikes were insane. It’s already FAR outgrown it’s current location. It was so crowded it was hard to see the bikes. Not a problem that comes up very often. It was nice to see old friends and meet a BUNCH of new people. I had a great time riding out with a bunch of friends from Elsinore and Orange County. No problems with bikes their or back. Watching Alex’s bike do the trip without missing a beat was killer. Especially after how bad that damn bike has been fighting him to come together these last few weeks. It amazes me the response that goofy pink bike gets when I take it out. Winning best Japanese at BF II was icing on the cake. I TRULY appreciate the nice comments from everyone at the show. I’m glad someone besides me likes digger style bikes. Wait until you see what is next. :) Congratulations to Adrian and Kutty for winning with the Loser Machine bike, and to Kim Boyle for his amazing recently completed Panhead. I’m looking forward to seeing how the BF crew is going to top this one.

Ruler
This is a good friend of mine Arturo Cardone. He also happens to be the father of another friend of mine here in Elsinore Alex. Arturo is not your typical seventy year old. He sent this picture to my cell phone a while back just to remind me who the bad ass is. I’ve had him pass me by on his Honda rigid at a hundred miles an hour yelling how I’m his bitch, etc. If you ever see this maniac at an event make sure and say hello. You won’t regret it.

Off to the track
Took a hour off from the shop to head over to the Hells on Wheels event to lend a hand creating the stage. Pretty stoked that it’s right here in Lake Elsinore. It is going to be a cool event. I would recommend a hat, the sun is everywhere.
Beginning of the stage , what will end up as part of the bonfire planned for the night
Come out and support Meatball and his staff! See you there
May the Force be with you!
Shop has been full of BORN FREE seats so Jason headed down to get the first shipment of the trooper helmets today. You can still pre order one while he takes care of the guys that have been since we started showing at the LBSM. You can still get on the list by emailing him at sales@eternalcombustion.com and telling him what color and size you want. Make sure to include your top choice and next in line for colors, as some like flat black and grey are almost gone already!

Heading to Sturgis this year?
The Limpnickie Lot will be set up at the Broken Spoke Campground this year in Sturgis. I am crossing my fingers that everything will work out and I can make it this year. I got to go a few years back and Lisa hasn’t made the trip yet.
This year , the Broken Spoke is throwing my friends a sweet 10% discount. They have tent spots, RV parking and private cabins. I really like the idea of the pool as it was hotter the hell the last time I went.
You can call them toll-free at 877-653-6679 (8-SPOKE-ON-79) or book online at: http://www.brokenspokecampground.com/reservations.php and remember to use the code “Ballard” when you book.
If you are looking for a spot to crash off the beaten path, this is the place.
